Revising Funeral Architecture

The Archives of Existence

The project concentrates upon celebrating life. With cremation rates doubling those of burial, combined with an increasingly isolating society caused by increased travel, opportunity and desire, we are in a world in which we live fast and die without regret. On a daily basis we now live our lives through social media, spending hours creating websites about our jobs, our loves and our passions. From this the project looks to combine key celebration points in our lives in an attempt to create a record of our lives but also a picture of the community we have lived in and the lifestyle of those around us. The project brings together the digital records we create through an archive, whilst simultaneously celebrating and aiding the morning period for those coping with bereavement.
